Maine needs more workers. Report points to increased housing, immigration as solutions

Silvio and Tasha’s stories are two of several shared with the Maine Center for Economic Policy (MECEP) as part of its annual “State of Working Maine” report. Using anecdotal and empirical data, the 2023 report concluded that in-migration to Maine, both people coming from other states like Tasha and from abroad like Silvio, is a solution to Maine’s current and projected workforce shortages.
