Tax cuts passed under LePage have cost the state $864 million in lost revenuewhich, according to the Maine Center for Economic Policy, has been distributed moslty to the wealthiest one-fifth of Maine households. Some of this funding could have been recouped by restoring the estate tax threshold to pre-LePage levels, but too many Democrats in the Senate opposed the measure and the bill died.
