The Maine Center for Economic Policy believes that rigorous and credible research and analysis should be at the core of discussions of public policy. The recent Maine Heritage Policy Center (MHPC) report, “The Fastest Growing General Fund Programs in Maine Government,” falls short on several counts. This response from MECEP identifies specific examples of distorted, misleading, and false information contained in the MHPC report.
