Colorado just expanded overtime protections. Will Dems in Augusta follow suit?

“Colorado’s decision to restore overtime restores one of the basic promises of employment: That workers should be paid for every hour they work,” said Mario Moretto, communications director of the Maine Center for Economic Policy, which estimates that under 20 percent of Maine’s workforce is currently guaranteed overtime. “Extra work deserves extra pay, but roughly 83 percent of salaried workers — including many with low incomes — aren’t guaranteed to be paid at all for time they work over 40 hours.”
