Maine lawmakers could still raise the minimum wage to $15

James Myall, a policy analyst with the Maine Center for Economic Policy (MECEP), asked members of the AFA and Labor and Housing committees to think of the $10.8 million as an investment in the care economy.

“At a time when more private-sector employers are paying above the minimum wage than ever, this increase will help the care agencies stay competitive and employ these critical workers,” he said.
