Senate GOP Health Care Bill's Effects Would be Felt in Every Corner of Maine
MECEP’s analysis of the BCRA shows that by 2026, Maine would receive $1 billion less every year in federal funding for Medicaid and subsidies to buy insurance on Healthcare.gov. BCRA would lead to the loss of 15,000 jobs, including 10,000 in the health care sector alone. An additional 120,000 Maine adults would not have health insurance, doubling the share of adults without health insurance to 21 percent – a rate that is unprecedented in modern times.
